Free-flowering double dahlia-like purple flowers that are 4-6" make this plant really stand out in the garden. 

It blooms in late spring and again in late summer to early fall.

It will perform its best in moist well-drained soil in full to part sun.

Make it happy by planting other plants by their roots, as they prefer them to be shaded.

A perfect plant for a trellis or arbor.

Prune in early spring lightly to shape.
