Common names: Lenten Rose

This beautiful Helleborus has 3-4" single wine-maroon colored flowers in spring.

The flower itself resembles a rose in appearance and blooms during the lenten season, hence the name 'Lenten rose'.

Works great as a front-of-the-border plant for the shade garden.

The foliage itself is semi-evergreen. 

Plant them where they will not receive the hot afternoon sun.

A great plant for a woodland setting.
