Baptisia 'Burgundy Blast'
Common name: false indigo hybrid
The dark reddish-purple flowers form in summer and last for weeks.
The flowers contrast nicely with the lush blue-green foliage.
After the flowers have faded they form unique seed pods that add ornamental interest.
It is deer resistant and attracts butterflies.
Makes a great focal point. Can be used instead of a shrub in the landscape.
