Common name: Ornamental Onion

Clumps of thick grassy leaves form in spring.

In mid summer bright lavender 2" globe like flowers appear.

The flowers last for weeks and attract butterflies galore.

The foliage gives off a scent of onion when crushed.

The foliage is also edible.

It is part of the leek, chive garlic family.

Deer and rabbit resistant.

The flowers are great for dried flower arrangements.
