Asclepias tuberosa
Common name: Butterfly weed
This plant is a butterfly magnet.
The stunning orange flowers bloom from early to late summer.
Flowers are great for fresh bouquets and when dried.
Use in beds and borders
It does require slightly acidic and well-drained soil to perform its best.
It is quite a sleepy head in spring as the foliage will appear a lot later than other perennials, so be patient.
