This plant is a Wisconsin native.
It has green foliage that turns shades of yellow, orange, and brown in the fall.
Light beige plumes form in summer and if touched smell like popcorn.
Extremely heat and drought-tolerant.
Great when planted in masses.
It is slow to emerge in spring, so be patient.
