Intense vivid magenta-purple flowers bloom in early summer.
Another flush of flowering occurs in mid-summer on top of the last blooms extending the flowering season.
This Monarda is part of the Leading Ladies series which has a tendency to stay put in the garden and not spread like other varieties.
The foliage has a minty fragrance when touched.
Hummingbird and butterfly magnet!
Great cut flower. Use in beds and borders.
Good resistance to powdery mildew.
Monarda performs best in full sun with well-drained moist soil.
Dry soil promotes powdery mildew.
Provide adequate air circulation by dividing and thinning clumps to help prevent powdery mildew from occurring.
