Common name: 'Little Bluestem'
This grass has shades of steel blue and purple foliage in the summer.
In fall the foliage takes on a kaleidoscope of colors including shades of orange, pink, yellow, purple, and red.
Feathery little tan plumes appear in late summer, adding more color.
A great plant for banks, slopes, and prairie plantings.
It is drought tolerant and deer resistant.
It has a nice upright shape.
Cut down in late fall for a sturdier plant next year.
