Common name: Bee Balm 'Leading Lady Lilac'
Intense vivid lilac flowers bloom in early summer.
Another flush of flowering occurs in mid summer on top the last blooms extending the flowering.
The foliage has a minty fragrance when touched.
Hummingbird and butterfly magnet!
Great cut flower. Use in beds and borders.
Good resistance to powdery mildew.
Monarda performs best in full sun with well drained moist soil.
Dry soil promotes powdery mildew.
Provide adequate air circulation by dividing and thinning clumps to help prevent powdery mildew from occurring.
