Schizachyrium scoparium 'Smoke Signal'
Common name: 'Little Bluestem'
This native grass starts out with shades of green and blue foliage which tuns to deep red and purple in the fall.
Feathery little tan plumes appear in late summer adding more color.
A great plant for banks, slopes and prairie plantings.
Drought tolerant and deer resistant.
It has a nice vertical upright shape.
Cut back in late fall.
