Astilbe x arendsii 'Burgunderrot'
Common name: False Spirea 'Burgundy Red'
Deep burgundy fluffy flowers form in mid-summer with a slight fragrance and last for weeks.
The lacy green foliage is quite attractive and is deer resistant.
Plant with hostas and coral bells to give your shade garden some added interest.
Although astilbes are usually easy to grow they do require good drainage and lots of water especially if they are in more sun.
