Decadence® 'Dark Chocolate' Baptisia
Common name: false indigo hybrid
This Baptisia has open spikes of chocolate-purple-colored flowers blooming in June on clump-forming foliage.
After the flowers have faded they form unique seed pods which add ornamental interest.
It is part of the Decadence series which makes these more compact and shorter plants than the native Baptisia.
Some great companion plants would be peony, iris, and salvia.
It is deer resistant and attracts butterflies.
